Charles Shearer is an Orcadian painter, printmaker and illustrator and a good friend and inspiration to Ingrid, the owner of The Longship. An ongoing theme throughout his work is 'Human Order within Nature', as he contrasts the natural environment with man-made architecture. His art captures the magic of the everyday - blending together detailed observation with mysterious symbolism.
