Our “Keel” pattern was conceived of as being like a set of abstract typographical blocks, arranged and stacked to create an improvised composition. The shapes create patterns from the gaps they leave, creating a tension between what is interpreted as the foreground and the background of the design.

Unlike many of our designs, “Keel” features large blocked areas of single colour. This showcases the natural variations and colour characteristics of our different yarns, and allows for more subtle combinations of colour.
