Working with artisans from Peru, Ecuador, India and Vietnam, Just Trade create sustainable Fair Trade projects to market crafts people’s jewellery. The company was founded in 2006 by jewellery designer Laura Cave, with the aim of creating jobs that support traditional techniques and skills from around the world. From crocheted silverwork to beautifully carved tangua pendants, Just Trade’s distinctive products are handmade with care from locally sourced and ethical materials where possible.
This minimalist collection shows off the natural characteristics of the tagua nut and is a collaboration of skills by Artisan makers from South America. Hand carved tagua from Ecuador is combined with simple brass forms that are cut by the women at the Hope Jewellery Project in Peru. The final assembly of these jewellery pieces is completed by the UK Just Trade team at the Peckham studio.
